Is Addiction To Video Games A Mental Disorder?

Children who lock themselves up in their rooms playing video games from morning to evening can be categorized as addicts. These kids usually ignore their daily routine work like, hanging out with their friends, taking showers, eating meals or even taking a simple walk down the park. A group of doctors from all over the world have done a research and have officially formulated this behavior as a psychiatric disorder. This research however was done to create awareness all over.

The doctors recommend that children should not be allowed to play these games for a longer period of time without doing a constructive activity. Parents must always monitor their kids on various occasions to prevent this behavior from getting out of hand, thus causing permanent damage. Like they say too much of something is harmful to your health, you should take that and practice it as a daily “thing” in your life not just video games.

When you have your leisure time include other activities like jogging, swimming, watching television and the list goes on. However if you are video game fun and you find yourself spending most of the time doing this, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are addicted. This only means that you love video games.

Predictability of Technology and Its Effects

Technology is a concept that deals with usage and knowledge of various tools and crafts and how they affect the human life. Technology is about creativity and innovativeness as human beings try to come up with machines or systems that will make carrying out of some tasks much easier.

Predictability of technology has been enhanced the need by the society to come up with better means of making their life much simpler. Positive effects of technology on the society include automation of critical processes in the households and in industries. This is enhanced by the electronic gadgets that save the society from performing repetitive and routine tasks.

Perhaps one of the areas where effects of technology are greatly felt is in the communication sector. Gadgets such as mobile phones and satellite technology have made it absolutely easier to connect people who are miles apart. Innovations continue to be made that will enhance digitalization of information as a way of improving information transmission and storage. The education sector has also had a share of the benefits through promotion of learning modules like online learning.

Negative effects of technology may include overreliance on machines which can easily erode human creativity and innovativeness.

However it is important to note the online game are a major target of people who develop computer virus.

Has Technology Made Life Better Or Worse For Mankind?

Technology has made the world both a better and worse place. Without technology, people would be more active in their daily activities instead of relying on them for most of their work. People waste a lot of time watching television while they could be involved in many other development making activities.

 

On the other hand, technology has had considerable contributions in society. Communication has become much easier and better since the introduction of mobile phones and the internet. You are able to reach anyone anywhere as long has they have a communicating device.

 

Therefore, technology has both good and bad benefits to the society. It is up to mankind to use technology for positive influence and avoid use for bad intentions such as creation of viruses and weapons to attack one another.

 

An example of effective use of technology is in the education sector where the internet has enabled the creation of online colleges that have made it easier for many to access education at their convenience. Technology has also enabled the discovery of cures for several diseases such as small pox that had greatly affected making.

 

On the overall, the benefits are overwhelming the negative outcomes and it is up to mankind to make a much better world with its use.
